Traveling to Santa Rosa, California

We continued to see very beautiful coast as we traveled to Santa Rosa.  However the big moment was the redwood forest.  I was just bowled over by the enormity of their size.  For those of you who haven't seen them, it is sometimes necessary to lean backwards almost like you are doing the limbo to be able to see the tops of the tree and even then you don't really see them.  I took a video of the largest tree because it was too large to get it in with a photo.  We ended up spending about three hours in the redwood forest.  This was much longer than Viv and Dick expected, but they were great and humored me while I jumped around exclaiming about each new sight like I was about twelve.  Dick said, " Well at least you don't keep asking, 'Are we there yet?'"  I found out that I am unable to load the videos, so I will do my best to give you an idea of what we saw on Saturday, 10/5.

The Giant tree was the one I had the video of and can't share with you.  I will show the sign and you will just have to imagine it.
