Traveling from Barstow, CA to the Grand Canyon

This day's travel was an amazing set of contrasts.  First we saw the miles and miles of crops including strawberries, lettuce, broccoli and more.  Then we saw miles of almond and pistachio trees.  After that we entered the desert area with vast areas of flat land backed by volcanic cliffs and mountains.  For many miles we saw many miles of  flat desert area with absolutely nothing that reflected habitation.

I didn't take pictures of the fields so you will have to imagine them.  There were also many field workers busy in the fields picking the crops.  Produce stands had signs indicating grapes for .69 a pound and 10 avocados for a $1.  We didn't stop, but it was quite amazing to see those prices.
